The Quran provides a simple, clear, logical framework for achieving human excellence

Verse 177 from Sura al-Baqara (Chapter 2) is a beautiful verse of Quran which is commonly known as Ayat ul Birr! This verse is continuation or expansion of the simplest, but powerful message of the Quran, for achieving success that is presented in four verses of Sura Asr (Chapter 103)

According to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), “Whoever acts in accordance with this aya (2:177) has perfected his Iman.”

Ayat al-Birr is a comprehensive 360 degree look at who is a righteous (good) Muslim. It gives Allah’s definition of Birr as a perfectly balanced view of a righteous good Muslim, who is striving to reach his full potential as mapped out by Divinity.

An overall big picture of what our lives should be about and who we should be as human beings. This is how Allah sees us as most perfect in terms of virtue and excellence.
